These girls are almost like family to me! I started photographing the oldest when she was about 9 months old and have enjoyed each and every session!

When I look back on their images, it can be hard to tell who's who....they look so much alike!! What do you think?

They are the sweetest girls with the best personalities...I just love 'um!!

Another SENIOR Sneak Peek!

I'm sooooo very fortunate to be blessed with photographing the absolute nicest kids....I think I am the luckiest photographer ever!!!

Yep...we're by the "Men's Restroom"!!

It's awesome when the person you are photographing sees things that you don't...Lucas actually saw this curved tree...I've walked by it so many times and never even saw it!

As I was setting my camera, Lucas was standing by this wall throwing the football in the air and I just had to get a few images of the action....Love it!

What a blast we had!! Good Luck Lucas!

That's right! We're all Smiles with NO Braces!!! Chase got his braces off today...after we left the orthodonist we counted the days....767 days with braces....2 years, 1 month and 5 days and now a Lifetime of beautiful teeth!!!

His Orthodonist has a chalkboard in the waiting room where they "announce" who gets their braces off that day....we've gone at least once a month for over 2 years and notices tons of names on the board....well guess who's name was on there today!!!! You guessed it...Chase Thomas!! It was so awesome to walk in today and see his name there!!!!! Don't you just love the after smile...looks just a little bit bigger than the before one!!!

On the other topic of the day...it's my Sweet, Sweet Mom's Birthday!!! Chase and I went over, before AND after the ortho visit...this is the image I took of him giving her a "Happy Birthday Kiss"...aaaahhhhh...so sweet!

My Mother has been the ROCK of our family for YEARS and she just continues with a truly loving heart and without complaints. She is the most amazing lady I know and is honestly my best girlfriend! I just don't know what I would do without her. She always has an open ear to listen but also gives the best advice ever! She has such a gentle spirit but is one of the strongest women I know. As a mother....you couldn't ask for anyone better..nuf said!!! (And that goes for her as a wife, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, sister, daughter and friend) I could go on and on and on......

Can you tell I love her just a LITTLE bit!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

I LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!

Poppin' my Gum...Poppin' Poppin' my Gum...

I know that this is my photography blog, but sometimes I like to share personal things as well. I've been talking about my sweet boy ALOT lately...Birthday, Christmas, etc. but I just had to share a story that I hope he and I don't forget.

He had an endocrinology appointment today...as most of you know he's a little small for his age...and we've been back and forth for YEARS about whether or not to do growth hormones, something that I haven't been too keen on because of how expensive plus...just not really wanting to put all of that in his body. BUT...at the same time I don't want him to be ONLY 5'2" (and at one point in time that WAS a prediction)! Well, we found out today that his height prediction is now at least 5'5 1/2" at minimum!!! I had always prayed for at least 5'6". SO...he now does not qualify for growth hormones...we are excited! He has always told me that he doesn't mind being short and he gives himself nicknames of Shorty...Short Stuff, etc.

A...N...Y....W...A...Y....

Not too sure why I had to share all of that but, needless to say he wasn't too excited before the appointment but after he was. We were singing songs, driving down the road and I was chewing gum and yes...I made a popping sound..I know, not too "lady like"...I would only do that around certain people!!! Then, he wanted me to "show" him how to make the popping sound...so I was explaining to him how I do it and we were laughing sooooooo hard as he was trying sooooo hard to do the sound. At one point he said..."Mom...I got air!!!" I WISH I would have had my camera so I could take pictures of his puckered mouth!!! He took one with my phone but I don't know how to get it to my computer!!!

The reason I share this story is because I'm SO GLAD that he can still have fun with me...laugh with me...and sometimes even think I'm cool!!! He is NOW 14 YEARS OLD...High School is next year...he's gradually leaving the roost....friends are important and I'm glad he's got some great ones....he has so many "grown up" decisions to make...for goodness sake in 4 years we will be planning his GRADUATION!!! Oh, it's going too fast!

Those fun little memories (even if some people don't think they are funny!) will be with us FOREVER...I will always remember this day and the little bit of silliness we had..he's growing up and I'm so proud of him!!

I Just Love That Kid!!!

Give yours a hug today and teach them how to blow bubbles and Pop their gum..you'll always remember the fun!

~~A Baby's Hug~~

~~My Aunt received this story through an email wanted to share the sweetness to all of you~~

We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking. Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, 'Hi.' He pounded his fat baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with merriment.

I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes. His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so varicose it looked like a road map.

We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled.. His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. 'Hi there, baby; hi there, big boy. I see ya, buster,' the man said to Erik.

My husband and I exchanged looks,

'What do we do?'

Erik continued to laugh and answer, 'Hi.'

Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby. Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, 'Do ya patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek- a-boo.'

Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk.

My husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn, reciprocated with his cute comments.

We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot. The old man sat poised between me and the door. 'Lord, just let me out of here before he speaks to me or Erik,' I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's 'pick-me-up' position. Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man.

Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their love and kinship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes. His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time.

I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice, 'You take care of this baby.'

Somehow I managed, 'I will,' from a throat that contained a stone.

He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, 'God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my Christmas gift.'

I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, 'My God, my God, forgive me.'

I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a child who was not. I felt it was God asking, 'Are you willing to share your son for a moment?' when He shared His for all eternity. How did God feel when he put his baby in our arms 2000 years ago.

The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, 'To enter the Kingdom of God, we must become as little children.'

~~Many Christmas Blessings to All of You!
